About Peace Community Center

Peace Community Center, incorporated in 1996, is a non-profit organization committed to empowering Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood children, youth and young adults to reach their God-given potential. The Center provides programming that supports these students with in-school, after-school and summer academic tutoring and mentoring. Through our academic programming students are able to build meaningful relationships with caring adults, which nurture their holistic development.

Our goal is for the students we serve would be able to attend college, receive a four year degree, gain a living wage job that is meaningful, and give back to their community. To date we have assisted 42 students to graduate from high school, 36 of whom are currently enrolled in college as a freshmen, sophomore or junior. These students have received over $1,000,000 in scholarships to support their goal of a college education.
