Feeding Program

For over 20 years, Peace Lutheran Church has partnered with other congregations in the Hilltop community to provide a hot evening meal to low income residents and the homeless. With the opening of Peace Community Center, the program moved from the church basement to the Center's Multipurpose Room.

Monday through Friday, from 5:30-6:30pm during the months of October and April, volunteers from churches and community organizations throughout South Puget Sound help provide a hot meal for all who come to our door. Approximately 7,000 free hot meals were served to nearly 500 individuals, throughout the year, supporting Hilltop families and the homeless. Over 200 volunteers from local churches and community organizations provided and served the meals to the guests.

Not only do people get a hot meal, they also have the opportunity to look through our "clothing closet." Open during the feeding program, this is an opportunity for people to get a jacket or coat, a dress or slacks, or even gently used shoes. All of the clothing is donated by individuals, congregations, and organizations in the community.

Thank you to all who spend time cooking, serving, and cleaning up afterwards.
